The 5 Warning Signs & Symptoms of Stroke Are: 1) Sudden numbness or weakness in the face or one side of the body; 2) Sudden confusion or difficulty speaking; 3) Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes; 4)  Suden trouble walking, dizziness or loss of balance; 5) Sudden severe headache with no known cause

Purpose: To develop GIS maps and other data resources which highlight the geographic distribution of stroke morbidity, mortality and the available resources to address the stroke burden. This information is used to generate and disseminate journal articles, white papers and other presentations on effective policies and initiatives in prevention and treatment.
